Dunhill opens Harrods shop

Dunhill has opened an ‘experiential’ store in the new menswear department of high-end department store Harrods.

Dunhill is joining the likes of Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani and Salvatore Ferragamo in the Men’s International Designer area of the redesigned menswear floor, which is undergoing a makeover as part of a £200m redevelopment of the Knightsbridge store.

Once completed in 2020, Harrods’ menswear department, previously spread across three floors, will be consolidated to one floor spanning 155,000 sq ft. Housed here will be several areas including Men’s Superbrands (where Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada have shop-in-shops), and two Designer Rooms.

The new layout is allowing brands to open mini flagship shop-in-shops where they can fully express their heritage and vision. Dunhill has taken advantage of this by creating a space that can fully transform in line with its seasonal collections.

The first design uses white wood marble, white rhino marble, and leather and suede details to make a reference to the brand’s Concours collection.

“We are thrilled to be part of this defining moment in Harrods’ history, where all of menswear will be on one floor upon the project completion in 2020. And we are excited to be there with our new experiential store concept, sitting amongst our luxury peers,” said Dunhill CEO Andrew Maag about the new store opening.

The store will showcase the label’s ready-to-wear, leather goods and fine accessories.
