Dsquared2 and Zlatan Ibrahimović have teamed up again. Following the successful drop of the summer 2021 essentials collection labelled ‘Icon Ibrahimović x Dsquared2’, the renowned Swedish footballer, who plays for AC Milan, and the Italian label’s designers and founders, Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten, have joined forces once more for a new, jointly designed collection called ‘Black on Black’.

On Monday night, at the end of Milan Fashion Week Men, the Caten twins invited the press to join them and Ibrahimović, who had just played a Serie A game, for the unveiling of their new collaboration at Dsquared2’s Milan headquarters. ‘Black on Black’ features a series of black total looks, inspired by Ibrahimović’s favourite colour. Last year, the Swedish forward was noted for his elegance as he made an appearance at the Sanremo Festival, Italy’s premier popular music event.

The collection’s four themes focus on different looks for the footballer’s daily life - daywear, evening wear, sport and denim - and embody his personality and style. Some of the items are accented by black-on-black embroidered details, from Ibrahimović’s initials ZI to his nickname Ibra and the Dsquared2 logo.

The collection, for the Fall/Winter 2022-23, consists of 48 items and includes classic everyday outfits featuring felt overcoats, blazers, biker trousers, sweaters, shirts, casual and formal jackets, and sportswear-inspired items like t-shirts, sweatshirts and jeans, as well as fleece joggers and a full complement of swimming pool gear.

For the evening, the collection features a classic black dinner jacket and bow tie combination, and glittering denim sets decorated with crystals in the same dark hues. The wardrobe is complemented by accessories like baseball hats and a variety of boots.

‘Black on Black’ will arrive in-store in August 2022. It will be commercialised via the e-shop and monobrand stores of Dsquared2, which is developed under licence by OTB, and at select multibrand retailers.
