For Ukrainian fashion-tech company DressX, founded by Daria Shapovalova and Natalia Modenova, Putin’s invasion of their homeland is literally hitting close to home. Now they are asking the fashion community to help support their fellow citizens.

The founders urged their fans and partners to donate via a new offering. The following statement below was released on Friday, February 25, 2022, announcing the Support Ukraine collection of four newly designed digital items—a heart-shaped dress, a sweatshirt, a pair of earrings, and a bucket hat, all in the signature yellow and blue Ukrainian flag.

The entire proceeds from the collection will be donated to the Ministry of Defense fund to help fight the war. Additionally, they are offering free Support Ukraine collection items for use within the DressX app.

“On February 24, 2022, people in several cities in Ukraine woke up at 5 am from the sound of the explosions caused by the attack from the territory of Russia. The Defense forces of Ukraine are fighting against the aggressive attempt of invasion coming from the President of Russia. Dear friends and partners, many of you know that DressX was founded by a team of Ukrainian founders," said DressX.

"In the past year and a half, we have grown to include team members based in various countries, including the U.S. Russia, France, Morocco, Romania, Spain, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Dominican Republic. We provide the platform for designers and talents from all over the world to unite around digital fashion and creativity. All of us, we all stand for Ukraine. Some of our team members and their families are currently in Ukraine. We are worried for our friends and for all Ukrainians.

"We’ve created this collection as a way of starting a donation campaign to support those in Ukraine. We believe that no country or nationality in the world should be in war and conflict. Peace is our biggest virtue, and the goal of humanity is to unite when someone needs help. The power of the community can do miracles. Let’s unite and do these miracles together!

"We are also offering Support Ukraine AR looks free to use in the DressX app. We hope these looks can be used to unite and show your support for Ukraine during this time. #fashionforpeace

All proceeds go to support Ukraine. Proceeds in crypto are accepted via coinbase commerce. One can donate directly to the wallet 0xc6d955affc31e65d45782ccb4fc009ad1edbe7b6, and DressX will make sure the fund will help Ukraine to stop the war. No images will be delivered; this is only for donations."

The funds will be donated to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and a series of charitable funds, the company added.

The duo, collectively behind the More Dash Sales and PR agency and Mercedes-Benz Kyiv Fashion Days, has been most recently known for the DressX platform, a meta-closet of digital-only clothing, NFT fashion items, and AR looks.

The platform produced an NFT collection of the Dundas crystal-encrusted looks designed by Peter Dundas for Superbowl LVI and, in the past year, has collaborated with Google UK, H&M, and Farfetch, featuring collections from Burberry, Balenciaga, Off-White, Dolce & Gabbana, Khaite, Palm Angels, and more.
