Dr Martens picks Véronique Miguens as new French country manager
Dr Martens is bolstering its French team. The British footwear label named Véronique Miguens country manager at the beginning of September. Miguens will be responsible for the development of the retail network in the French market, one of the brand's two priority continental European markets.
Miguens cut her teeth as deputy store manager at Desigual in 2009. Following several promotions, she was appointed head of French store openings for the label in 2011, and then sales manager. She has also previously served as retail manager France, Belgium & Holland at Furla, and as country manager France at El Ganso.
The young exec will report to Nathalie Schneider, who has been EMEA retail director at Dr. Martens for the past year. Miguen's recruitment comes as the footwear brand elaborates its strategies for the French and German markets. It has just completed the refurbishment of its store at Paris' Les Halles shopping centre with its new concept, and plans to open another in Bordeaux by the end of the year, preceding a series of branch openings in France next year.
