Dr Martens and A-Cold-Wall unveil new collab capsule

Published

Collabs are coming thick and fast from footwear brand Dr Martens at the moment and the latest is undeniably interesting with the British label having linked up with A-Cold-Wall.

Dr Martens x A-Cold-Wall

It’s actually a continuation of their previous links with the pair “proudly reconnecting over a passion for elevating overlooked workwear by infusing it with subcultural influences. A testament to their shared heritage. The latest edition of their celebrated partnership concentrates on clean lines and distilled aesthetics. A rejection of an over-designed mainstream”.

A-Cold-Wall founder Samuel Ross is known for his use of “socio-political graphics”. Not that we get graphics here, instead the focus is on functionality, strong silhouettes, and subtle details.

This new “evolution builds on previous seasons, with the double-height Bex sole providing a strong foundation”.

“Playing with light and shade”, the collection consists of a black-on-black 1461 shoe, plus a monochrome white 1461 shoe and 1460 boot.

Dr Martens said the “crisp architectural structures where the eyelets would traditionally be placed firmly stand out on the silhouettes’ profiles. A mainstay of the collaboration that can be traced back to their nascent collection. Similarly, laces have been abandoned and replaced with sleek front zips to maintain the controlled form the boot and shoe”.

Also present are gunmetal rivets, embossed leather and exaggerated side panels, plus the signature Dr Martens AirWair heel loop and welt stitch are presented without colour for the pure white boot and shoe.

And there’s a co-branded, reflective swing tag too.

The pieces launch on A-Cold-Wall’s webstore next Monday and on the Dr Martens webstore and at selected partners the next day.
