Dolce & Gabbana has named Lady Kitty Spencer as its debut global ambassador, marking her latest link with the house since first appearing on their catwalks back in 2017.

Spencer, the niece of Princess Diana, later opened an elegiac Alta Moda show by the Milanese designers on the shores of Lake Como in 2018, and has been a special guest of the house on numerous occasions, including a Christmas show they staged inside Harrods.

Raised in South Africa, Spencer later studied art history and Italian in Florence. She appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK when she was one year old, and graced the covers of Vogue Japan, L’Officiel Brazil and Tatler.

“I am truly honored to be appointed as Global Ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana. Domenico and Stefano celebrate life’s wonders: family, joy, beauty, color and love. Working with them is always a new experience, a unique opportunity to rediscover Italian culture, art, savoir-faire and lifestyle. When I wear their pieces I feel their passion and I feel like the best version of myself,” said 30-year-old Lady Kitty.

Spencer is engaged to Michael Lewis, chairman of the Foschini Group, a giant South African retail chain.

Her appointment means she is the first official ambassador of the house, which has previously focused on muses, such as actress Monica Bellucci.

“We are delighted to welcome Kitty into our big family. Her charisma and radiance struck us right away: seeing her wearing our creations, and interpreting them with her style, is always a great feeling for us,” said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in the release.
