Dior reveals Travis Scott collection drop date

Published
Jul 1, 2022

Dior revealed this week it will drop this month the Travis Scott collaborative collection for men announced late last year, after it was put on hold following the Astroworld festival tragedy late last year.

The French luxury fashion house confirmed that the Houston rapper’s highly anticipated 'Cactus Jack Dior' collection will launch on July 13, according to multiple U.S. media reports.

Dior's artistic director Kim Jones co-designed the men's fashion and sneaker collection alongside the Grammy-nominated artist, songwriter, producer, business mogul, and designer. The collaboration was first unveiled at Dior's spring/summer 2022 show held in Paris 12 months ago, with Dior describing the collaboration as melange of the famed house's classic motifs and Scott's personal style and his creative collective, Cactus Jack.

Set to bow in early 2022, Dior postponed the collection launch in December following the deaths of ten attendees of Scott's Astroworld festival in November, out of respect for the people who lost their lives.

Nike also distanced itself from the rapper following the incident, delaying its release of its Travis Scott sneaker. The sneaker company is yet to reveal if the Air Force 1 model inspired by Scott will be released in the future.

Scott, through Cactus Jack, has partnered with some of the biggest companies in the world including the likes of Nike, Dover Street Market, McDonald’s, Playstation, and more. He also previously collaborated with Dior when he modelled the Air Dior capsule collection developed by the French fashion house last year with Jordan Brand.

In 2020, he founded the Cactus Jack Foundation, which aims to empower and enrich the lives of youth by providing access to education and creative resources to ensure long-term success. Most recently, the foundation partnered with Parsons School of Design to establish a fashion program, and launched its own HBCU Scholarship Program. Meanwhile, Scott's musical achievements include a multi-platinum title for his last album 'Astroworld'.

The Cactus Jack Dior collection is expected to be available at Dior.com and at select Dior stores from July 13.
