Dior inaugurates new large-scale flagship store in Paris

Luxury fashion brand Dior has opened a new flagship store in the heart of Paris’ luxury shopping district. As FashionNetwork.com reported last year, the flagship store is located on the corner between number 261 of the rue Saint-Honoré and number 14/ 16 of the rue Cambon.

The building was previously occupied by Roberto Cavalli. The Italian brand sold the building in 2015, keeping only the store, which it then decided to close in 2018. Christian Dior then took over the location and enlarged the space by around 200 square metres.

The store, which was just recently inaugurated, measures more than 900 square metres and is spread over five levels. Within the store are Dior’s menswear and womenswear collections, leather goods, shoes, and accessories as well as jewellery line Dior Joaillerie and homeware line Dior Maison.

“Redesigned by architect Peter Marino, the new, restored stone façade adorned with large bay windows blends harmoniously with this 18th century heritage Parisian building,” the brand announced in a press release. “The interior’s four floors mix high-ceiling open spaces with more intimate spaces, evoking the atmosphere of a town house. The fluid and abstract lines combined with soft nuances bring a touch of modernity and luminous serenity.”

Marino, who also designed Louis Vuitton’s flagship store at the Place Vendôme in Paris, chose a series of art works by Martin d’Orgeval, Peter Seal, and Alyson Shotz as well as an original photograph by Nicolas Ruel for the space. The store’s furniture includes chairs by Pierre Paulin, botanical tables by Franck Evennou, and gold and silver pieces by Mattia Bonetti.

Dior’s projects in the French capital do not stop there. Christian Dior also plans to reopen the doors to its historic address at number 30, avenue Montaigne. The brand plans to triple the sales area of the fully renovated store from 1,000 to 3,000 square metres.
