The VF Corporation-owned company said the fashion and sportswear veteran officially took up his new design role at Dickies this week.

Lambert joins Dickies from Backcountry, where he served as creative director from May 2021 to January 2022.

Before Backcountry, he worked for Centerfield Creative and Limitless Creative Co., both in Portland, Oregon. From August 2009 to April 2018, he was at Nike with his last role being Nike|Energy, Influencer & NBHD brand marketing director, North America.

"Matt, who started this week, comes to us with an authentic passion and personal connection to the workwear space with the street cred associated with a professional career that spans across lifestyle brands like Nike, Express and Abercrombie & Fitch. Always up for an adventure, Matt and his family jumped at the opportunity to move to Shanghai while he was with Nike," read a post on Dickies's LinkedIn page.

"That experience combined with his global expansion efforts at Limitless Creative Co has shaped his unique perspective on global branding. Matt is eager to roll up his sleeves alongside the global and regional teams to drive the creative direction and strategic growth for Dickies, globally. The bottom line is Matt makes shit happen and we are excited to watch the magic unfold at Dickies."

Founded in 1922 as Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co., Dickies was acquired by VF Corp. in 2017 for $820 million. It retails in over 100 countries worldwide including the U.S., Canada, China and Australia.

In its most recent trading update for the 2022 fiscal year, VF Corp. said revenues at its Dickies brand lifted 19% to $837 million during the 12 months ending April 2.
