Denim PV launches new, itinerant format, to hit London
The Denim Première Vision trade show has introduced a major overhaul of its formula. The French denim industry event announced at the end of its latest edition that it would leave the Paris Event Centre, and hold its next spring session at the French capital's Parc Floral venue, near the Bois de Vincennes.
But with the arrival of a new management team, Denim PV has now wholly revised its approach. Guglielmo Olearo, in charge of Première Vision's international shows, has taken responsibility for Denim PV, replacing Chantal Malingrey. Fabio Adami Dalla Val, who developed his career at the R&D department of denim manufacturer M&J, has been appointed show manager, introducing a new, innovative event concept.
Denim PV will remain in Paris for the summer session, and become itinerant for the winter one, a strategy which should enable the event to forge closer ties with, and respond to the requirements of denim specialist labels. The show's next edition, scheduled for May 23-24, will be held at Paris's Parc Floral, but for the following one the show will travel across the English Channel. The venue will be the Old Truman Brewery in London, the regular home of the Jacket Required show, and the dates are December 5-6. The East London location promises a maiden itinerant edition within a setting steeped in fashion and art.
Also, the dates are earlier in the fashion calendar than before and, according to the organisers, they "correspond to the dates when pure players develop [their collections]." After the London edition in 2018, Denim PV will travel across Europe in future years.
The show will still feature a section dedicated to the sharing of market information, with conferences and debates about denim industry issues. The last edition of Denim PV brought together 80 exhibitors and about 2,000 visitors.
