Denim Première Vision ready for first London edition

Denim Première Vision is about to arrive in London. The French denim trade show will hold its first itinerant edition, announced at the start of the year, on December 5 and 6 at the Old Truman Brewery, in the London district of Shoreditch.

Denim PV will host 89 exhibitors in London, as opposed to 80 at the same session a year ago. Among them, Advance Denim, Albiate 1830, Artistic Denim Mills, Artistic Fabrics & Garment Industries, Artistic Milliners, Arvind, Berto, Bossa Denim, Calik Denim, Kurabo, Kuroki and Raymond UCO Denim.

The fashionable side of denim will again take centre stage, as for the second time the organisers have invited a guest designer as event ambassador, in fact two, the creative duo for Marques’Almeida. Besides designing the outfits of the show's staff, they will stage a master class on December 5. The show’s focus is on the Spring/Summer 2020 season, examined through four fashion themes: Discover, Care & Share, Performance Perspective and Personalisation.

The event’s first day will feature a series of conferences on fashion-related issues, while the focus for the second day will be eco-responsible denim. Besides round-table talks on environmentally friendly denim, the Smart Library area will showcase samples and novelties from selected exhibitors, and the Smart Wardrobe section will do the same for finished products created using eco-responsible production processes.

SMQ, the section dedicated to small production runs that was introduced a year ago, will feature a new SMQ Corner, showcasing a special selection of garment manufacturers and laundries. After Marketplace Première Vision, the show’s marketplace for fabric samples, was launched at Denim PV’s September session in Paris, the staff in charge of it will also be present in London, to inform exhibitors and visitors on how the new feature works. The marketplace will open up to leather manufacturers next February, to the denim event's exhibitors next June, and finally to textile accessories producers in September.

Denim PV’s London session was designed to attract British exhibitors, and as the first stage of the show’s itinerant format, held a different city each season. On the event’s first day, Denim PV’s management, led by Guglielmo Olearo, is going to announce the cities that will be hosting the show for next year’s two sessions. Paris is not reportedly one of them, contrary to what had been initially indicated last February and May.
