Cubitts to launch archive collection as it celebrates 10th anniversary

In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, eyewear maker/retailer Cubitts is “dusting off its treasures”, opening up a limited-edition archive of 10 heritage frames that are no longer in production.

Available via its webstore between 28 March and 14 April, customers will be able to purchase the frames “Cubitts has been saving for years”. These include angular Balfour frames worn by TV presenter Prue Leith to the Camley, worn by actress and singer Cynthia Erivo.

As an "antidote to modern throwaway culture and as a celebration of its design history” the 10 frames from 10 years “will enable customers can purchase their favourite frames… but when they’re gone, they’re gone”, warned Cubbitts. 

Apart from the Balfour and Camley styles, the line-up also features: Cromer (worn by illustrator Alec Doherty); Drummond (a Jackie O-inspired frame reminiscent of 1960s and 70s 'bug-eye' silhouettes); the geometric Everilda frame; the Lavina (worn by celebrity make-up artist Louise Constad); the classic thick/square-framed Leirum; the bold, seventies-style pilot-shaped Penton; the angular and polymetric Penryn; and the bold/geometric Wharfdale.

The collection will be available in four colours across the different styles for £100 with a prescription and £75 without.
