Crew Clothing posts 12% rise in sales, profit falls

Crew Clothing, a British casualwear brand, posted a 12% rise in turnover in the year to October 26, 2014, up by £6.5m to £59m.

However, operating profit fell in the period, down from £1.19m in 2013 to £1m in 2014. Profit for the financial year was down to £434,677, from £690,598 in the previous year.

“The expectations of our customer are changing rapidly and therefore we continue to invest in the key areas of infrastructure in order to provide a high quality of service,” the company said. “This ongoing investment will provide the platform for the future growth of the business with logistics and information technology being strengthened during the year."

Crew Clothing was started by Alastair Parker-Swift in the early 1990s and has 76 stores in the UK.
