Copenhagen Studios joins S Oliver Group

Published
Jul 26, 2021

German retail group S Oliver has acquired footwear brand Copenhagen Studios with the company saying that the brand is “on a promising path” both in Germany and internationally.

Copenhagen Studios

S Oliver, which owns its eponymous brand, as well as Q/S by S Oliver, Comma, Comma Casual Identity and Liebeskind Berlin, said that Copenhagen Studios founders Johannes and Julian Rellecke have also joined the group, along with their brand. They actually have a history with the new parent company having worked with the firm at Liebeskind Berlin before creating their own label.

The brand was founded in 2017 as a sneaker label but has since added other footwear, as well as — most recently — bags and loungewear.

The two companies didn’t share any details of the purchase price but it’s been reported that S Oliver has taken a majority stake in the firm. Despite that, Copenhagen Studios’ HQ will stay at its Münster home.

The brand has around 850 wholesale customers and its new majority owner now plans to accelerate its growth.
