Copenhagen Fashion Week: Stamm wins Zalando Sustainability Award

Published
Feb 3, 2023

Stamm has won the AW23 Zalando Sustainability Award at Copenhagen Fashion Week with the brand having demonstrated “impressive craftsmanship as well as deep understanding and execution of more sustainable practices in their AW23 collection,” we’re told.

The award “celebrates and supports brands that drive positive change and contribute to a more responsible fashion industry”.

Zalando said Stamm “particularly impressed the jury with their use of more sustainable materials, including recycled down in their puffer jackets as well as Indian Khadi, a heritage textile made with organic handspun cotton”.

The brand’s creative director Elisabet Stamm said winning is “both magical and motivating” and that winning it “will let us expand our network and keep working towards bringing positive change”.

The company will receive a prize of €20,000 and the opportunity to develop an exclusive collection with Zalando that “will further leverage more sustainable design solutions across materials, production processes, technology and traceability”. That collection will be available to Zalando customers across all European markets.

Meanwhile, runner-up Selam Fessahaye was recognised by the jury for her huge range of materials, styles and technical competency, while TG Botanical was praised for its craftsmanship, use of natural raw materials and local production.
