Converse and JW Anderson unveil new collection, prepare pop-up

In the latest iteration of the JW Anderson and Converse collaboration, the Irish-born designer has given the famous Chuck 70 style a glossy makeover, creating a collection that will be released in a dedicated pop-up in London this Thursday.

This is the second season of JW Anderson and Converse’s footwear collaboration, and sees the award-winning designer continue his exploration of form and function and his life-long obsession with collecting art.

Crafted with patent leather with an exuberant application of colour and laces that mimic the stucco of San Francisco, the collection is called ‘Toy’ and launches on July 19 in selected stores and retailers.

There are four versions in gradient colourways and translucent coloured soles, a result of Anderson’s continuous search for “the new, weird, and wonderful”.

The designer said the collection will be available at a pop-up store opening from 19-22 July at 20 Beak Street in London’s Soho, as well as online and in JW Anderson workshops.

High-end retailers including Barney’s, Net-a-Porter, Dover Street Market, Galeries Lafayette, Selfridges, Opening Ceremony and Mr Porter will also stock the range.
