Comme des Garҫons to take new CDG brand global

After an initial launch in Japan in July, Comme des Garҫons’ new logo-based CDG brand is set to become available globally via dedicated retail spaces and a global online shop.

As demonstrated in the first capsule collection, launched in Japan in the summer, the new brand revolves around the Comme des Garҫons logo as a way of celebrating 40 years of its existence.

Dover Street Market stores in Beijing, London, Los Angeles, New York and Singapore will open CDG retail spaces from 27 October, as well as Comme des Garҫons stores in Hong Kong and Seoul.

Additionally, two standalone CDG locations will open in Tokyo and Osaka.

With a cheaper price point than the main Comme des Garҫons line, and a focus on casual wear, the new CDG brand is likely to see success with an expanded demographic of shoppers. The e-shop will start shipping globally from 1 November.
