Clarks appoints Freida Pinto as new brand ambassador
Clarks has made Indian actress Freida Pinto the face of its new autumn/winter footwear campaign. Pinto stars in the brand’s latest advertising campaign and models a range of the brand’s causal and smart-casual footwear.
“We’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with actress and activist Freida Pinto to discover exactly why comfort is essential to every day,” wrote Clarks, on its international social media.
“At the beginning of my career I was asked to sacrifice comfort for the sake of fashion and style,” Pinto told Elle India, about how the collaboration came about. “I don’t think you need to give up one for another. So, I think Clarks and I have a common idea on the word ‘comfort’, and what it really means. So, the association happened organically.”
Clarks opened its first exclusive brand outlet in India in 2011 at Connaught Place in New Delhi. The brand runs a mix of company-owned and franchise-owned stores throughout the country and also retails from its dedicated e-commerce site.
