CIFF trade show to combine childrenswear with men’s, women’s fashion

CIFF is adopting an increasingly cross-industry approach. The Copenhagen fashion show’s next edition, scheduled from January 30 to February 1 at the Bella Centre, the exhibition centre owned by CIFF’s organiser, will be characterised by new synergy opportunities. Over the last few seasons, the show has extended its footprint by adding sections on menswear and urbanwear and holding art events - CIFF's parent company also organises the Code Art Fair - and this season it is reaching out to the childrenswear industry.

CIFF Kids, the show’s childrenswear counterpart, until now hosted in a different venue within Copenhagen, is in fact moving to the Bella Centre and joining the main CIFF event. The show, now rechristened CIFF Youth, is well-established in the European childrenswear scene, and is seeking to open up its horizons and create new synergies by being held together with the adult event. For this season, CIFF Youth will have its own separate entrance and space, but by next summer the boundaries are expected to disappear, as CIFF pushes its cross-industry strategy.

CIFF’s winter edition will extend over a 60,000-square-metre area and reportedly expects to host just under 2,000 exhibitors. Of these, 250 will exhibit at CIFF Youth, nearly 500 in the showrooms adjoining the show, reserved for labels which receive buyers by appointment during their sales campaign, and over 1,000 will exhibit at CIFF proper, featuring womenswear, menswear, urbanwear, footwear and accessories labels, ranging from affordable to premium brands.

Emerging labels will have a dedicated section, as will a series of special projects set up by the show together with artists. The show organiser and its creative director, Kristian Andersen, believe that this curatorial approach will pay off in Paris too. A Parisian edition of CIFF has been on the cards for nearly a year, and is expected to finally be scheduled for the end of June.

In the meantime, CIFF Copenhagen is bringing all its assets together under the same roof, in an attempt to be even more inspiring for its visitors.

On the same dates, the Danish capital is also hosting the Revolver show, at the so-called Revolver Village, in a more central location. As usual, it will bring together approximately 300 exhibitors, featuring premium international menswear and womenswear labels.
