The Parisian fashion label announced in a press release a new stage in its restructuring: after the appointment of the General Manager of Christian Dior Couture, Serge Brunschwig, as President of Dior Homme last year, it has now put Damien Bertrand in charge of the women’s divisions.

To fill this key position, created with a view to giving more energy to its various businesses, the group has poached Bertrand from L'Oréal, where he spent 18 years in leadership roles, most recently that of General Manager of the Consumer Goods division in Brazil.

Damien Bertrand is a graduate of the HEC business school in Paris, and began his career at LVMH in 1998, as Marketing Director, Australia, for Guerlain. "His experience in growing brands and leading international teams will contribute to the continued expansion of the Dior brand worldwide," group boss Sidney Tolédano has commented in a communiqué.

The appointment coincides with the presentation on 30th September of the very first collection by Christian Dior's new Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri.
