British designer Christian Cowan and American rapper Lil Nas X worked hand in hand to propose a collection whose benefits will support the Black queer community in Atlanta. The colorful, glitter-covered clothing is the subject of a short film featuring a host of personalities engaged in the cause, including Marc Jacobs, Heidi Klum and Helena Christensen.

With a lack of renowned designers and physical shows, New York Fashion Week was nevertheless marked by a most explosive collaboration. Christian Cowan and Lil Nas X have concocted a unisex ready-to-wear collection for the spring-summer 2021 season that underscores their joint commitment to Black LGBTQ+ youth. The funds raised will benefit Black queer youth in Atlanta, where the American rapper is from, through The Loveland Foundation.

The unisex collection showcases the respective worlds of Christian Cowan and Lil Nas X with a multitude of unisex pieces, checkerboard prints, feathers, graffiti-like inscriptions, vinyl, satin, iridescent, and a mountain of glitter and crystals. While a few silhouettes come in black, including long evening dresses, most clothes feature flashy colors with an emphasis on yellow, pink, red, and purple. The common thread of the collection is British punk aesthetics of the '70s.

The clothes were presented via a short film featuring a host of stars. Lil Nas X features, of course, as do Marc Jacobs, Heidi Klum, Helena Christensen, Ava Max, AJ Harris, Amanda Lepore, Aweng Chuol, Chella Man, Drebae, and Violet Chachki, to name but a few.
