Céline opens Paris flagship on Avenue Montaigne
May 4, 2014
Céline opened its new Paris flagship Monday, April 28 at 53 Avenue Montaigne. A major advertising campaign throughout Paris led up to the event. The Céline store is the new neighbor to the most recent flagship of Saint Laurent and replaces Céline's former location in rue François Ier.
Danish artist FOS created custom furnishings that includes lamps, benches and chandeliers. The store offers all of the brand's lines, which had cancelled the lease on this same address several years ago. "Sofas, purist furniture and tropical plants have been used to create intimate and cozy spaces," described the fashion house, which owes its success to British designer Phoebe Philo.
Céline is planning to open 15 new stores by the end of the year, including flagships in Tokyo Chengdou, Las Vegas and New York. The brand's previous location in rue Françios Ier will remain the property of LVMH, which has long dreamed of opening a first Dior Homme flagship in Europe. But the group's projects may have evolved since then.
