With 'Bois Dormant,' the house of Celine is beginning a new chapter in its olfactory history. A story that began in 2019 with the opening of the Céline perfumery at 390 rue Saint Honoré in Paris and the launch of a collection of nine exceptional unisex fragrances, to which the scent 'Rimbaud' was added in 2020.

The ten -- and now eleven -- fragrances all originated in the diary kept by Celine's creative director, Hedi Slimane, used to capture all his emotions in Paris, the brand said.

Launched in early September in the Celine Haute Parfumerie boutique as well as in the Maison Celine pop-up at La Samaritaine, Bois Dormant will begin retailing through a selective network on September 23. The pop-up will also be unveiling a line of homeware alongside a dog-and-cat accessories line that was launched in May.

The fragrance, which like the other ten, is in the tradition of the "couturier parfumeur" and is structured around a singular ingredient that is iris butter, with notes of cedar, vetiver, bergamot and juniper.

Owned by luxury group LVMH, Celine develops its perfumes in-house with noses whose names remain secret. It has quietly been said that Bois Dormant could perhaps close the chapter of this perfume adventure.
