Castore signed by Athletic Bilbao for another major kit deal

Castore’s roster of European professional football teams has grown yet again. The premium sportswear brand has now added Spanish La Liga side Athletic Club Bilbao for the 2023/24 season onwards.

Castore will design and manufacture playing and training kits, which will be worn by the first team, women’s team and youth academy sides.

Bilbao is currently enjoying a successful season in the Spanish top flight, with the Basque side sitting in the top half of La Liga and challenging for a place in Europe.

Tom Beahon, co-founder at Castore, said: “The club is full of heritage and tradition, but also shares Castore’s desire for innovation which will be the key to our success as partners.

“Together we look forward to getting fans excited about our bespoke product and retail offering which will cement Castore’s position in the Spanish and Basque football market.”

Jon Uriarte, President at the club, added: “Castore is a leading sportswear manufacturer that already works with some of the most important entities in the world. It is another example of the club’s intention to be at the forefront of innovation and high performance.”

It joins fellow La Liga team Sevilla in the Castore roster, which also includes  English Premiership sides Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Scottish Premiership team Rangers FC.

The brand is also building a presence in many major sports such as cricket with the England team, Formula One with the McLaren team and Oracle Red Bull Racing, as well as international rugby, golf, professional cycling and now boxing, recently signing boxing champion Joe Joyce as brand ambassador.
