Premium sportswear brand Castore has opened its first flagship store in the upscale area of Chelsea in London.

The business is backed by British tennis player Andy Murray, who acquired a stake and became a global ambassador in March. As well as wearing a kit produced by Castore using technical fabrics and advanced engineering, Murray sits on the brand’s board as an advisor.

His involvement has helped fuel growth at the sportswear brand in the past few months, paving the way for the opening of the new flagship store on the King’s Road.

Opening for six months only, the 1,200 sq ft store is set across two floors, where visitors can discover the full range of gym, running, tennis, golf and technical lifestyle collections. These include the womenswear collection, which was launched by the label earlier this year.

In keeping with today’s experience-led retailing, the space will also act as an immersive sports hub, featuring a golf simulator for customers to test out the recently launched golf kit.

Launched by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, Castore has greatly benefitted from Murray’s support and is expecting to see sales of £14 million this year.

Speaking about the store opening, Castore co-founder Phil Beahon said: “The expansion and the store opening is a major milestone for Castore. The ethos of the store is extremely minimalist and very much designed to accentuate focus on the product themselves which are the heart of the Castore brand.”

Andy Murray, added: “I am delighted to see Castore open its first store in such an iconic location as the King’s Road. Since I became involved in Castore, the team have been very focused on finding the perfect store and we are very excited to have finally found it.”
