As anticipated by FashionNetwork in September, Italian footwear label Casadei has opened its first London store at 48 Albemarle Street in the Mayfair district, also home to the stores of Aquazzura, Alexander Wang, Paul Smith and Faliero Sarti.

The 120 m2 store features the same interiors concept of the label's Milan and Rome shops, designed by Cesare Casadei, in collaboration with architect Marco Costanzi.

The store is split into two parts: the main area is characterised by large shop windows, its walls decorated by geometric installations. Within it, illuminated metal frames set on a marble dais encase light, velvet-upholstered display stands. The walls are covered with myrtle briar panels, interspersed with large vertical mirrors that add brightness to the environment.

The second area hosts the label's most exclusive collections: its walls are entirely upholstered in velvet and feature two myrtle briar niches with silver-plated brass frames, where the shoes are showcased.

For the London store's inauguration, Casadei presented its new, exclusive 'Desire Lines' video, featuring the Say Lou Lou pop duo. The video, directed by Sue de Beer, is inspired by Casadei's Spring/Summer 2017 collection, and encapsulates its 1980s mood.

The Casadei label was founded in Italy in 1958 by Quinto and Flora Casadei, and is currently managed by their son, Cesare.

The brand operates about twenty mono-brand stores, a showroom in New York and several retail corners and shop-in-shops in Russia, the Middle East and Asia. The business is growing at a rate of about 20% per year.
