Columbia will open a 2,465-square-foot flagship store on Carnaby Street later this month, while eyewear specialist Izipizi will also establish a new location on the famous shopping street.

Italian fashion brand Subdued has taken a unit in Foubert’s Place for its first UK store, and Swedish clothing label Our Legacy will expand its presence in Silver Place, where it opened a menswear store in 2014, with a dedicated womenswear shop.

Addy Williams, senior retail portfolio manager at Shaftesbury, said: "We are excited to see the healthy demand from influential brands wanting to open their first UK store in Carnaby.

“These brands are seeking a destination with seven days a week footfall and a good demographic customer, coupled with our unrivalled events and marketing strategy that supports the retailers and gives our visitors great customer experiences."

Carnaby Street is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world for its heritage, creative installations and line-up of brands. The area is also a hub for international names, with brands including The North Face, Rag & Bone, Puma, Muji, Levi’s and Onitsuka Tiger having a presence there.
