Carine Roitfeld, an idol to fashion professionals and fans, is the leading lady of a documentary produced by Elle. Directed by Fabien Constant, producer of “Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton,” and co-producer of the series "The Day Before" by Loïc Prigent, Mademoiselle C follows the preparations and publication of the first issue of "CR," the magazine launched by Carine Roitfeld after her surprise departure from Vogue Paris. But the film is about much more than just that story.

The movie poster designed by Karl Lagerfeld

Surrounding the iconic Parisian “with 12 inch heels,” as described in the film synopsis, is a myriad of luxury superstars (Karl Lagerfeld, Riccardo Tisci, Tom Ford, Alber Elbaz, etc.), who took part in the documentary and are mentioned in the film poster designed by long-time collaborator Karl Lagerfeld. “Filming lasted nine months,” said Fabien Constant, “and it turns out that Julia, the daughter of Carine Roitfeld, gave birth to her first child during this period.” Thus the initial subject, the launch of a magazine, turns into a story of birth and rebirth, the central components of the film. “For Carine Roitfeld, private life and work are one and the same, everything blends together,” said the director. “She loves the people she works with and works with the people she loves.”

The film will be distributed internationally and premieres September 11 in the United States, with a projection scheduled to coincide with New York Fashion Week. The film will also be screened in Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas and will then be distributed in the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea and beyond.
