Canali to open new flagship on Bond Street in 2020

Published

The major upgrade works going on in the Hanover Square/Bond Street area of central London will see Canali opening there, with the GHS Limited Partnership, one of Great Portland Estates' joint ventures, securing its first retail pre-let.

Canali

The Hanover Square development’s first flagship is located at 64 New Bond Street, on the corner of Brook Street. The luxury Italian menswear brand has signed a new 10-year lease on this prominently located store, giving it a prime unit of 5,014 sq ft over three separate floors.

GHS said the overall development is a “world class” scheme and will eventually provide 33,500 sq ft of retail space, mainly fronting London’s premier luxury shopping thoroughfare, New Bond Street. The development also includes offices and residential units.

Leasing Director Marc Wilder said: “Canali's name has been synonymous with tailor-made Italian luxury since 1934 and we are delighted with their decision to relocate from their current store in New Bond Street to our exceptional development. Canali will start trading during 2020 and we are encouraged by the level of occupier interest in the remaining space.”

Meanwhile the Italian label’s Group Commercial Director Paolo Canali said that it’s moving as the new site offers “superior quality” and will allow it to showcase its collections “in a store outfitted to reflect a brand steeped in Italian culture, history, style and taste.”
