Calvin Klein signs permanently at London Designer Outlet

Published
Oct 15, 2021

London Designer Outlet (LDO) is firing on all cylinders. The regional shopping centre, which is adjacent to the Wembley Stadium complex in north London, has been given another major boost with  news that Calvin Klein is set to open a permanent store following the success of its pop-up.

It joins Tommy Hilfiger who has also committed to the centre, announcing last month it was to “significantly upsize in the centre following the success of its pop-up store in LDO one year after it opened its doors”.

Calvin Klein said it has also now committed to upsize by 50% to a 4,100 sq ft permanent store following the trial store that opened in August 2020, between lockdowns and will form one of the brand’s largest UK’s outlet stores.

“Both Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein represent the next steps in a strategic improvement to London Designer Outlet’s premium fashion offering and reflect how well these names are performing with the centre’s affluent catchment from across London and the Home Counties”, LDO said.

In other positive news, the centre also said sales rose 6.3% week-on-week following the release of the new Bond blockbuster movie No Time To Die at its Cineworld theatre.

It also said centre-wide menswear sales are now up 68% on 2019 pre-pandemic levels with fashion and beauty sales growing 6% in September, compared to September 2019.

LDO is usually able to benefit from a steady stream of events at Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena that generate massive footfall, with those consumers often also wanting to dine and shop.
