The initial store opening conversation for COS began in June when it was revealed that the company plans to replace H&M on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The Fifth Avenue location will be joined by a retail location in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, a store on Newbury Street in Boston, and a location in Houston’s River Oaks District.

The COS Fifth Avenue location will stand at 3,982 square-feet, the Costa Mesa store will be 4,165 square-feet, the Houston store will be 4,380 square-feet, and the Boston store will stand at two floors. All stores will offer both the womenswear and menswear collections.

Marie Honda, COS’ Managing Director, said of the expansion, “We are very pleased with the brand’s growth since our launch in the U.S in 2014 and we look forward to introducing COS to new neighbourhoods and cities this autumn / winter.”

The company entered the US market last year with the launch of e-commerce and two stores in Los Angeles on 357 North Beverly Drive and on Spring Street in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood.

The brand launched in London on Regent Street in March 2007, and today it currently has 125 stores in 26 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the US. In April, the company announced that it would open two stores in Canada in Montreal and Toronto in 2015.
