The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has unveiled the list of nominees for the 2009 Fashion Awards, a ceremony to recognise the best American stylists. This year, the coveted award for Best Designer in Ladies Fashion could go to Marc Jacobs, Kate & Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, or to Narciso Rodriguez. They’ll be waiting with bated breath for June 15, the date of the ceremony that will be held in the Lincoln Center in New York.

Michael Bastian & Scott Sternberg from Band of Outsiders and Italo Zucchelli from Calvin Klein are competing for the title of Best Designer in Mens Fashion.

The prize for Best Designer of Accessories will be decided between Marc Jacobs (a second nomination for the stylist), Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez from Proenza Schouler, and Vera Wang.

Marc Jacobs will definitely be honoured in some way at the next Fashion Awards ceremony, organised for 2009 in partnership with Swarovski for the eight consecutive year, as the fashion designer will receive the “International Award” which is to recognise an American stylist’s contribution to international fashion.
