C&A Europe welcomes new marketing director

C&A has announced a new executive hire for its European division. After cutting down its executive board by four members last month, the Dutch chain has recruited a new marketing director to replace Manfred Mandel, who has left the company for personal reasons. 

The new arrival is Aida Rizvo, who brings 20 years of experience in marketing and management to the company. She joins C&A after six years leading her consultancy firm specialised in supporting companies looking to expand their brands into Southeast Asia. Prior to this, Rizvo worked at the Henkel group from 2000 to 2006, and again from 2011 to 2012, notably overseeing marketing for haircare brand Schwarzkopf and Fa deodorants. Her appointment at C&A was effective as of 1st November, at which point she also joined the company's executive board.

The family-run fashion company currently operates 1,500 stores in 18 European countries, reported a rise of 4% in comparable sales in 2017 and is in the midst of restructuring its operations in Europe. "A company that wants to make decisions more quickly, act more efficiently and be more agile needs a streamlined management team with clear responsibilities and a horizontal hierarchy," explained Alain Caparros, C&A Europe's CEO since August 2017.
