Burberry launches WeChat experience for Lunar New Year holiday

Burberry, the British fashion brand, has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to combining fashion with the latest in tech. Previously, it has presented a live photo shoot via Snapchat, launched a Burberry Booth with Google and teamed up with DreamWorks and Nova, among many other tech collaborations.

Now the brand is celebrating the Lunar New Year holiday season with a dedicated experience on WeChat, China's social messaging platform. Burberry has launched "'A Lunar New Year Gift', a dedicated interactive messaging service for its followers, in partnership with the platform.

The experience lets user tap, swipe and shake to unwrap Burberry gifts, and they can also create and personalise digital Lunar New Year envelopes to send to friends and family.

Burberry has also created a gift assortment for the season, which features its iconic products in a special colour palette of blues and pinks, Burberry Parade Red and flashes of gold. The Lunar New Year gifts will be in stores and online from January 6.
