Luxottica, a group that is still operating independently even after the merger with Essilor, and Italian jeweller Bulgari, have inked an early renewal of their exclusive licence agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Bulgari eyeglasses frames and sunglasses.

The two parties announced the deal in a joint press release, stating that the renewal for a three-year term will be effective on January 1 2021, when the current agreement will expire, and extend to December 31 2023.

“This is a remarkable renewal,” said Leonardo Del Vecchio, executive president of Luxottica, adding that “we have been collaborating productively for over 20 years, and we have a significant future ahead of us.”

“For the next three years, we are planning qualitative growth in our category and further expansion in our main markets, whether emerging or not, especially in Asia and the USA,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bulgari.
