British sportswoman Mwandumba among new ambassador trio at Lacoste
Fashion-sportswear brand Lacoste has added three new names to its roster of Olympics ambassadors creating partnerships with the trio until 2025. The additions “reaffirm the brand’s commitment to maintaining its links with the Olympics and Paralympics’
The newcomers are Ruth Mwandumba (shooting - UK), Ashleigh Johnson (water polo - USA), and Marcel Nguyen (gymnastics - Germany).
Briton Ruth Mwandumba is regarded the UK’s best shooter and “invests in her discipline to change the way women are viewed in this unique sport’.
Johnson is considered by many to be the best water polo goalkeeper in the world. She’s a three times World Champion and double Olympic Gold Medalist (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020) who’s looking to make it three-in-a-row in Paris 2024.
Nguyen was the Olympic runner-up in 2012 in the all-around and parallel bars. Four years later in Rio he introduced a new movement in the middle of an official competition.
“Historically, Lacoste has always been strongly connected to the Olympic and Paralympic world. This legacy continues today with these three new brand ambassadors — the new ‘Crocodiles’, with different backgrounds and origins, all have in common that elegance of style and spirit which they apply both in their sports and outside their chosen fields,” Lacoste said.
