Woodhouse, who has fulfilled finance director roles at John Lewis Partnership and  fashion retailer Hobbs, will chair the London-based property giant’s Audit Committee from 31 March. That will allow Preben Prebensen to step down from his role as interim chair of Audit but remain a member of the committee.

Woodhouse is currently CFO of car and cycle care retailer Halfords Group and has been since November 2018.

Tim Score, chairman of British Land, said:She has extensive experience across all finance disciplines and has worked within many different sectors including real estate and retail”.

Last August, the Broadgate and Meadowhall malls owner/operator appointed Bhavesh Mistry as its new chief financial officer. He joined from supermarket giant Tesco where he was deputy CFO for over two years.
