British fashion companies give clothes to Syrian refugees

The plight of people fleeing the war in Syria hasn't gone unnoticed by a number of UK retailers, who have donated clothes to the refugees, reported Drapers.

Seasalt, a lifestyle brand from Cornwall, donated several boxes of coats that had a minor manufacturing fault. Joint Managing Director Neil Chadwick told Drapers: “Can we marshall the industry to pull together and donate any dead stock especially warm stuff for the coming winter?”

Frances Bishop and Rachel Mawby, owners of The Pud Store, which has kidswear stores in Nottingham and Doncaster, have given Save the Children around 600 items of sale stock. They said: “We had stock rooms full of sale stock in our three stores and thought we would rather see all the items go to a good cause.”

There is now also an Amazon Wishlist that consists of things needed by the refugees in Syria and Greece, and when an item from the list is purchased, it gets sent directly to the camps by Amazon.
