Boohoo buys West End property, keeps London-based brands in the city

Published
Apr 13, 2021

Boohoo announced on Tuesday that it has acquired a new office in Soho, London, for £72 million.

Karen Millen

The offices, at 10 Great Pulteney Street, have been taken on as the Manchester-based company’s presence in London has grown significantly since it acquired the Karen Millen and Coast brands in 2019. Since then, it has also bought Oasis, Warehouse, Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis.

The new office is intended to become home for all of its London-based product, marketing, technology and central support teams.

And the company said it will offer flexible working for approximately 600 staff.

It's an important boost for the wider garment district in London's West End, especially given that a number of companies based in the area have closed due to the pressures of the pandemic.

The failure of Arcadia and Debenhams put a big dent in the number of fashion office jobs available in London. But given that Boohoo acquired a number of the Arcadia brands, as well as buying Debenhams, it's no surprise that it has made this commitment to the UK capital.
