In this role, Karpas will lead the company’s continued expansion and will lead efforts to drive adoption of Bold’s checkout experience suite. Karpas succeeds co-founder Yvan Boisjoli, who will focus full-time on guiding business development and strategic partnerships for the company.

“Retailers and brands want more from their ecommerce platforms as they pivot to meet the demands of today’s anywhere commerce customers, and checkout is a huge untapped opportunity for improvement. Bold offers a toolkit to convert more shoppers in more places–all without having to replatform,” said Karpas.

“It’s an exciting time to join the company, as we empower retailers to solve for checkout abandonment and launch new sales channels to reach more shoppers and drive revenue.”

Karpas has over 30 years of experience in e-commerce, payments and fintech, leading the growth strategy of new products and services at companies including PayPal, Intuit and First Data (now Fiserv).

Most recently, as SVP, global head of small and medium business (SMB) products at Fiserv, Karpas led the company’s SMB Product team. Prior to that, as VP and general manager of North America SMB at PayPal, Karpas oversaw the company’s largest, multi-billion dollar business. Meanwhile, at Intuit, he ran the Quicken business and helped launch new solutions including QuickBooks Premier and Quicken Health during his 10-year tenure.

“Peter has dedicated his career to working with clients and partners in the payments and commerce space. He brings a great track record of innovation to Bold and is aligned in the view that best of breed solutions are key to evolving technology stacks,” added Boisjoli, co-founder, Bold Commerce. “I’m looking forward to working side-by-side with him as we lead Bold into this next chapter, bringing a new era of checkout experiences to the industry.”

The company works with leading omnichannel retailers like Vera Bradley, Harry Rosen, and Staples Canada, and emerging DTC brands, such as Pepsi and Mars.
