For the first time, United Colors of Benetton has joined forces with a fashion designer, Stella Jean, to create a winter capsule collection focusing on knitwear.

Benetton

Italian designer Stella Jean lives and works in Rome, and in just a few years has become a household name in the fashion world. A protégée of Giorgio Armani, hers is a breezy design blend in which Italian style and expertise combine with graphic themes influenced by Africa and the Caribbean, especially by Haitian culture. The result is an innovative brand of fashion, cheery and colourful, distinctive for its extremely feminine cuts and volumes.

The capsule collection created by Stella Jean for United Colors of Benetton features of course the designer's signature traits, developing them via two themes that are dear to the label: knitwear and colour.

"The capsule collection interprets Benetton knitwear through Stella Jean's joyful global vision, capitalising on the textile traditions of southern hemisphere countries to influence her Italian style," stated the label in a press release.

Altogether, Stella Jean has created her own version of fifteen knitwear items, all of them Benetton basics, producing a series of feminine, festive looks. The collection includes overcoats, dresses, sweaters, skirts and a selection of accessories.

The winter capsule collection will be on sale from the end of November at selected United Colors of Benetton stores and online.
