Belstaff raids its archives in new Vestiaire Collective partnership

Published
May 5, 2017

Heritage British brand Belstaff has teamed up with Vestiaire Collective on the exclusive sale of iconic wax cotton Trialmaster jackets from its archive, marking the first time it sells curated archive pieces with a partner.

The selection is made up of 10 Trialmaster jackets, a quintessential design which was widely adopted by the biking community in the 60s and trademarked by Belstaff in 1969. Each jacket has an oily hand waxed patina giving them their waterproofing properties and feature the Belstaff check lining. Some still display vintage badges from Goodyear or BSA pins from their original owners, while two of the jackets are in hard-to-find rare red wax, all with individual wear and weathered distinctions on the fabrics.

All proceeds from the sales will go towards future purchases to help grow and sustain Belstaff’s archive, which was first revealed during London Fashion Week at the New Bond Street flagship. The label has been curating pieces for over 30 months, growing its archive to an incredible 150 pieces in preparation for it centenary celebration in 2024. The designs cover the most significant and prolific of the brand's themes, including aviation, military, naval and moto.

“Our archive is not only a fantastic design reference it also showcases our legacy. It's great to offer the Vestiaire Collective style conscious community the opportunity to purchase these one of a kind jackets and we hope it introduces Belstaff to a new audience, who appreciate craftsmanship and long lasting heritage,” said Belstaff creative director Belstaff Delphine Ninous

The 10 Trialmaster wax cotton jackets are now available on Vestiairecollective.com and are showcased at the Belstaff flagship store on New Bond Street.
