Belstaff has poached Sheena Sauvaire from Topshop to be its new chief marketing officer, with responsibility for the fashion company’s brand, marketing, PR and digital communications across all territories.

Sauvaire was most recently global marketing and communications director at Topshop, where she joined in 2006 as global head of marketing. Prior to that, the exec worked at creative communications agency Exposure, holding several senior roles and working with fashion clients such as Nike, Levi's, Converse, Selfridges and Agent Provocateur.

Sauvaire joins Belstaff following the arrival of Helen Wright as CEO in January last year. Most recently the brand, known for its waxed jackets, also hired Sean Lehnhardt-Moore as creative director.

“I am excited to welcome Sheena to Belstaff. She brings a modern and strategic approach to marketing and communications across all channels, with a sharp, global outlook. She will be an integral member of the leadership team and shares our passion for this great British brand,” Helen Wright commented on Sauvaire’s appointment.

The brand is now under UK ownership after being acquired by chemicals giant Ineos from JAB Luxury GmbH in 2017. Its latest big marketing campaign, unveiled in September, highlighted its return to British ownership, as well as its focus on selling long lasting jackets and the brand’s enduring spirit of adventure.
