Belgian luggage brand Kipling names Markus Hamm head of EMEA
Markus Hamm has left Eastpak but remains within the VF Corp. group. After a year as vice-president in charge of global sales and digital operations for the US backpack and luggage brand, Hamm is moving to Antwerp, Belgium, where he will be heading Kipling’s business in the EMEA region.
Kipling, a long-established nylon luggage brand, known for its logo featuring a small monkey, has undergone a makeover in recent seasons. Hamm has been appointed by Kipling to the position of vice-president and general manager EMEA. “I see great opportunities to expand Kipling’s brand growth in the region, in alignment with the brand’s creative vision of ‘Live.Light,’” said Hamm.
He is well acquainted with the business operations of VF Corp., a group he joined in 2004 as sales director, forging a career at Jansport and Eastpak.
Kipling is distributed via 436 monobrand stores and 7,500 multibrand retailers in 80 countries worldwide.
