BBFW returns with 300 brands and 20 shows from April 20 to 24

Bridalwear returns to Barcelona next spring during Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week’s usual pre-pandemic schedule. Organized by Fira de Barcelona together with the Departament d'Empresa i Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya, the event will be held in palaces 1 and 2 of the Montjuïc exhibition center and will showcase the collections of more than 20 brands between April 20 and 23, as well as a trade show from the 22 to 24. A total of five days dedicated to the presentation of the 2023 bridal and evening wear collections.

Barcelona's bridal event will take place at the end of April - BBFW

Two months before BBFW’s 2022 edition kicks off, the event has already hung its "sold out" sign. With almost 300 brands, of which 74% hail from up to 25 countries, the event aims to strengthen its international position and its role as Europe’s capital of bridal fashion.

The event will present established Spanish brands such as Jesús Peiró, the Pronovias Group, Rosa Clará, Yolancris, Sophie et Voilà, Marco & Maria, Sonia Peña, Carla Ruiz, Ramón Sanjurjo, Inuñez, Novia d'Art and Tot-hom. BBFW will additionally host Lebanese brand Zuhair Murad’s designs for the first time, as well as American brands Demetrios, Justin Alexander, Enzoani, Randy Fenoli, Allure and Amsale. The Italian brands Nicole Milano, Peter Langner, Andrea Sedici, Elisabetta Polignano, Poesie Sposa, Simone Marulli, Valentini, Amelia Casablanca, Bellantuono, and Maison Signore will also participate. The other international brands include Ukrainian Milla Nova, Madi Lane from Australia, Korean Vestal, Julie Vino from Israel, the French Cymbeline, Daalarna from Hungary and Romanian Otilia Brailoiu.

"We are delighted to bring the sector back to Barcelona for this 2022 edition. We come back strongly and are eager to show the evolution of bridal fashion, presenting a season full of novelties and creativity," said the event’s director, Estermaria Laruccia. "In recent years, the norms, customs, market, and consumers have changed. Our goal is to evolve with these changes and live the challenges of the future hand in hand with the industry, insisting on the need to innovate, to promote sustainability throughout the product value chain, and to accept diversity as an invaluable source of wealth," she detailed as she spoke about the upcoming edition and its “Move to New” motto.

In parallel with the physical celebration of the event, BBFW will launch a digital platform until the end of July with the goal of "boosting business and facilitating access for brides-to-be to view the collections." The online space will have an area dedicated solely to participating brands and industry experts and another area open to the public. The fashion week and bridal fair will be the sector’s first major gathering since the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2021 gala, which was organized in collaboration with the Save The Children foundation last October.
