Asia’s top e-tailers to promote British fashion brands

British fashion brands like Victoria Beckham, Vivienne Westwood and Wool and the Gang are set to benefit from an advertising campaign running across three major Chinese and Hong Kong e-tailers next week.

Spearheaded by the British Department for International Trade, the deal will see 164 British fashion, beauty and homeware brands showcase their products for free on the Asian sites. This will give them access to the online retailers’ combined potential audience of 720 million internet users.

The week-long campaign will coincide with the upcoming Great Festival of Innovation in Hong Kong, where some of the best British innovation and technology companies will present their visions.

“Demand for the UK’s quality goods and services in key international markets is already growing and as we look to create our own independent trade policy for the first time in over 40 years our businesses stand ready to flourish,” said International Trade Secretary Liam Fox.

According to the ONS, trade in goods and services between the UK and Hong Kong increased by over 15% last year to reach £19.6 billion.

John Steere, President of MyMM, a fashion e-commerce app, said: “We very much look forward to promoting UK brands among Chinese consumers as part of the Great Festival of Innovation. MyMM are delighted to be supporting an event which demonstrates UK excellence and seeks to drive future prosperity for UK exporters by strengthening trade links between the UK and Asia.”
