Armani opens outlet at Braintree Village

Landsec’s Braintree Village outlet in Essex has welcomed a new Armani store, the brand’s first outlet in the county. The store offers regular discounts of up to 35% off RRP.

The new 1,889 sq ft store is sited next to Polo Ralph Lauren and joins a raft of other premium and luxury international labels at the centre, such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Timberland.

Braintree Village saw 11 openings last year, despite the pandemic, but the Italian brand’s debut is its first 2021 opening and comes as a large number of stores are opening across the country with many Q1 debuts having been delayed by the UK’s lockdown that’s only just being eased now.

Outlet centres have consistently been strong performers in the UK in recent years, defying downturns linked to the online shift and bouncing back strongly last year when the first lockdown was eased. That was despite many other retail destination types struggling to generate profitable footfall levels.
