Emerging UK designers should hurry up and apply for the 2016 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, which has discovered and supported new UK design talent since 2008.

The application process has been revised for 2016 and now consists of two steps. Designers must fill in the online application by August 7 and these applications will be reviewed by a judging committee, chaired by British Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman. The chosen designers will then be invited to submit their five year business plan.

The prize consists of a bespoke, high level mentoring support programme over a twelve month period, as well as a £200,000 grant, giving the winner a huge boost both financially and workwise.

Alexandra Shulman commented: "British fashion is in a better state than ever before and we're pleased that this award has been a part of its success. This year we are all hoping to see a record number of applicants. We want to encourage the widest range of designers possible to apply and gain the advantages of being chosen for our prestigious shortlist."

The winner will be in good company - previous winners include such big names as Erdem, Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou.
