Independent boutique Annie’s Ibiza is to open its first UK standalone location on November 5 with a debut on Newburgh Street in the Carnaby neighbourhood.

The 814 sq ft space, which is owned by London landlord Shaftesbury, will cover the ground floor and basement area and comes after a raft of other interesting openings in the neighbourhood. These include the Rolling Stones store on Carnaby Street itself, the new Adidas Originals store, Urban Outfitters own-brand iets frans, Wax London, Canvas, Timberland’s eco concept shop and Ralph Lauren’s Double RL.

It's a further sign of ongoing confidence in the central London market despite current challenges that have seen tourist footfall almost non-existent and office workers continuing to work from home as a Covid second wave gains ground.

Annie’s Ibiza was founded by British former fashion buyer Annie Doble, who has built up a huge celebrity following for her original boutique on the Spanish holiday island that stocks plenty of independent labels, one-offs, vintage items and exclusives.

The London location will carry labels such as Christian Cowan, Ashley Williams, Area, De La Vali, Saks Potts, Clio Pepiatt and Alice Temperley, as well as some exclusive pieces from Ashish and emerging talent including Miss Sohee. It will also include an edit of vintage pieces.

The London debut is something of a homecoming for Doble who once had a vintage stall at Spitalfields Market. “The store is a reflection of my wardrobe and all the things that I love”, she said of her latest project.
