Store staff will be wearing-shirts with a WomAnn Summers logo, and the first 100 customers to visit the stores will receive an exclusive goodie bag containing a micro-rabbit.

The lingerie and sex toy brand said the rebrand will also take place online, and a social media campaign will highlight the initiative with a hashtag #WomAnn Summers on Instagram.

Jacqueline Gold, CEO of Ann Summers explained: “International Women's Day has marked the plight and achievements of women for more than a century.  It is a day when women all over the world can inspire one another, celebrating everything that we have achieved and to recognize how much further there is still to go. Empowering women is something that I am personally incredibly passionate about and at Ann Summers, we proudly stand for sexual empowerment for every woman.”

In addition to the 8 March action, the retailer will be carrying out a series of events and initiatives for customers and colleagues throughout the year to support female empowerment.
